Message: Discipleship
Matthew 28 :18-20 is the final instruction Jesus gave to His followers before He ascended into Heaven. “The Great Commission,” as it is called, was given not just for those of that time but for us, for all time.
Our mission is clear: Go and make disciples. First, though, we need to BE a disciple. Using Easton’s 1897 Bible Dictionary definition, we’ll walk through what it looks like to follow Christ so we are equipped to go out into the world and make disciples.
Salvation through Christ is free but being a disciple? It will cost us. It requires sacrifice, to enter the narrow gate, to take up our cross, to deny ourself and desire God’s will over our own. It requires us to leave the world behind to cling to Jesus, standing firm on the Truth of the Bible and understanding that we may lose friends or even a job because we won’t cave to the voices and pressures that swirl around us.

I will be the emcee for this event! We have two wonderful speakers joining us with wonderful worship and a delicious lunch! (Door prizes, too!)

THEME: Stop...Love...Listen
This retreat has a focus on James 1:19, “My dear brothers and sisters, take note of this: Everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to become angry…”
There is so much in this short verse to dive into and in each session we will discover how vital stopping, loving and listening is, not only with those around us but especially with the LORD.
We are praying over this gathering and inviting the Holy Spirit into every aspect and every heart. He can—and will—do mighty things!!!

Ladies, this retreat will rejuvenate, strengthen and equip you as we discuss perseverance, living out of faith—instead of fear—and walking in confidence!!

This event is all about spiritual restoration. Oh, how we need it in our lives—always, of course, but now more than ever!

THEME: GENEROUS: Understanding the Breadth and Depth of God’s Love for His Creation
James 1:5 promises: “If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you.”
If, as Paul instructed us, we are to “give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus,” (1 Thessalonians 5:18) and to be able to declare, “I know what it is to be in need, and I know what it is to have plenty. I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want.” (Philippians 4:12), we need to go to the Source of all provision. When we do, we see how faithful God is to give generously!
Join us as we discuss not only the obvious ways in which the LORD is generous, but also those things that perhaps you considered to be a gift of generosity. One thing is for sure, there is no lack of things to thank God for!
Bring family and friends! There will be worship, food, prizes and, especially, Biblical teaching that will equip you to stand firm in your faith! Know that you are already being prayed for!

Proverbs 31:26 says, “She speaks with wisdom, and faithful instruction is on her tongue.” Paul prays in Philippians 1:9-10, “And this is my prayer: that your love may abound more and more in knowledge and depth of insight, so that you may be able to discern what is best and may be pure and blameless for the day of Christ…”
Isn’t that what we want—to speak with wisdom and have faithful instruction on our tongue? Don’t we want our love to abound, our insight to deepen and have the ability to discern what is best?
Join us as we dive into what it means to be a disciple and use what God teaches us to help guide others. We need to be equipped and ready at every opportunity! After all, before our Savior ascended into Heaven, He gave us what we call “The Great Commission”: “Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you.” (Matthew 28:18-20)

Speakers Jennifer Cadamore, Erin Mialki, and Tammy Summers will share how to lift one another up spiritually, emotionally and physically and why it’s not only possible, it’s vitally necessary.
This event, from 8:30 am to 3:30 pm, is for the New Life Student girls. Lunch will be provided.
Spend the morning with us as we discuss the mountains we face in life, the wisdom we receive from the Lord when we seek it and how taking in His extravagantly thrilling creation from atop a mountain can change our perspective forever!
Coffee, breakfast items and fellowship all add up to a great way to begin our Saturday!

Do you know that there are countless stories in the Bible of ordinary people, just like you and me, who chose to exercise faith over fear? We’ll discuss some of them, consider what happens if we don’t look to Jesus when fear arises and His unwavering, merciful nature even when we do.
Certainly, fear creeps in to a believer’s life but what’s most important is how we react when it does. By the power of the Holy Spirit, we can choose our response to it and continue to persevere despite it. We can be victorious over the evil one’s lies!
In addition to the Bible lesson, this event includes worship, craft activities, lunch and giveaways!
Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. (John 14:6)
I’ll be discussing what Jesus meant in this passage and how we must come to know that He is the Way —THE Way. He will also MAKE a way for us to stay focused on Him in whatever we face. Most importantly, He has MADE a way for us to be reconciled to the Father. What joy we have in understanding these truths and may they spur us to fully live out of them!

This event is being offered for the 6-12 grade girls of New Life’s youth groups. Cost is $10 per student. Breakfast and lunch provided. Register by Wednesday, March 16.

Have you ever felt as if you have done too many wrong things to ever be loved, accepted or forgiven by God? In this encouraging lesson, we’ll discuss the humanness in all of us, with the tendency to turn from Him again and again. There are always consequences for this, yet we are encouraged in Ezra 10:2: "But in spite of this, there is still hope [for Israel]" .
Because God created you, you are loved; because of God's righteousness, you are accepted; and through repentance, you are forgiven. There is hope for all!

Hebrews 12:2 (NKJV) is the verse that is the launching point of our discussion: “… looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.”
I will be teaching the lesson Live Like It, which explores our identity in Christ. If we don’t know Jesus, we won’t understand who we are because of Him. If we don’t understand what His sacrifice on the cross did for us, we can’t live out our divine calling in order to fulfill His will for our lives. And if we don’t see who we are in Him, others won’t see Him through us.
The ladies have assured protocols for the event with plenty of room in the sanctuary as well as for the meal to meet social distancing & mask guidelines.
They have prepared a program in addition to my lesson that will discuss how:

Prayer Warrior Bootcamp from Cyndee Ownbey will be used as the basis of the retreat. The goal is to fulfill the goals set forth in the resource:
Strengthen the prayers of the women as they pray privately and corporately.
Remove one more barrier that keeps women from mentoring others.

David cried out "Come quickly, Lord, and answer me..." (Psalm 143:7) Have you ever prayed for help and wondered why you aren’t receiving the answer you desire? Have you sometimes felt that God just isn’t listening? You’re not alone. In this lesson, we’ll go through both the Old and the New Testaments, reinforcing with Scripture how often God promises to rescue us from our troubles and that He is indeed listening- and answering- even if it isn't exactly how we expected. We just need to persevere in prayer and trust in the One who answers them.
