Statement of Faith
I believe all scripture is “God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness.” (2 Timothy 3:16) and that the 66 books of the Bible, from Genesis to Revelation are the exhaustive, inerrant and inspired Word of God, which I unapologetically stand on and teach from.
I believe that through the study and application of the Truths in the Bible we are able to be changed in mighty ways. I believe in the promises of God as well as His warnings. I do not believe in watering down or sugar-coating the messages contained within the Holy Scriptures. I am called to teach the Truth, not popular opinions.
I believe in one God, the Creator of all things, who is holy, perfect, and exists in a loving unity of three equally divine Persons: the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit.
I believe that Jesus Christ is God incarnate, fully God and fully man, one Person in two natures, that He was conceived through the Holy Spirit, born of the virgin Mary, lived a sinless life, was crucified under Pontius Pilate, arose bodily from the dead, ascended into heaven and sits at the right hand of God the Father as our High Priest and Advocate.
I believe that we cannot become more like Jesus without God's amazing grace and the indwelling presence of the Holy Spirit, Whose ongoing work of sanctification after redemption produces life changing fruit — “love, joy, peace, long-suffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness and self-control.” (Galatians 5:22)
I believe I am forgiven of my sins but repentance must come first. “Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners” and can fully redeem and powerfully use even those who consider themselves to have been “the worst.” (1 Timothy 1:15). Praise God for His mercy!
I believe that “if we claim to be without sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us.” (1 John 1:8) and “if we confess our sins, He is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.” (1 John 1:9). I confess that while I am born again and a new creation in Christ, I am still flesh and may make choices out of that flesh that I will need to repent of. I am so grateful for 1 John 1:9!
I believe Jesus Christ is “the way, the truth, and the life.” (John 14:6). "Without the Way, there is no going; without the Truth, there is no knowing; without the Life, there is no living." ~ Thomas a Kempis
I believe that “salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name, Jesus Christ, under heaven given to man by which we must be saved.” (Acts 4:12). I thank God that He doesn’t give me what I truly deserve as a sinner--eternal separation from Him. I am well aware of and stand in reverent fear of the power of our Almighty God and know that because of Christ's redemptive sacrifice--and my acceptance of that gift--I will spend eternity in Heaven with Him.
I believe God “is patient, not wanting any to perish but everyone to come to repentance.” (2 Peter 3:9)
I believe that every believer in Christ is the “temple of the Holy Spirit.” (1 Corinthians 6:19)
I believe we have been “baptized by one Spirit into one body.” (1 Corinthians 12:13)
I believe we have “different kinds of gifts but the same Spirit.” (1 Corinthians 12:4)
I believe that we are “all one in Christ Jesus" (Galatians 3:28) and I recognize the value and equality of all members of the body of Christ as “heirs according to the promise.” (Galatians 3:29)
I believe in the Rapture of the Church prior to the wrath of God being poured out on the earth, at a time known only to God the Father. I also believe in the personal, bodily and premillennial return of our Lord Jesus Christ.
